Loads & Resources
Each year, WECC sends the Loads and Resources data request to each of its Balancing Authorities in early December, with a due date typically in early February. This data request includes existing and future generator information, historic hourly generation, historic hourly demand, monthly energy and peak forecasts, transmission information, and a reliability narrative. Accurate and timely Loads and Resources data is crucial to WECC’s reliability work, including the State of the Interconnection Report, Western Assessment on Resource Adequacy, Anchor Data Set, power flow analyses, and others. It is also used by NERC for reliability assessments such as the Long-Term Reliability Assessment and the Summer and Winter Reliability assessments.
