The first Reliability in the West discussion topic of the year has been updated to focus on the latest developments in regional resource adequacy and long-term reliability. This session will highlight the recent WECC Western Assessment of Resource Adequacy and the NERC Long-term Reliability Assessment, addressing uncertainty and the challenges of large loads and resource build-out. Panelists will explore key findings and discuss their impact on the reliability of the Western grid.

The WECC PCS and NPCC TFSP will hold a joint meeting on March 18 to discuss regional challenges in system protection, review metrics and analyses used for MIDAS data, and exchange practices that are helping reduce protection system misoperations. The PCS will also meet separately in a closed session on March 19. Both meetings will offer a virtual attendance option.
