Governance & Budget

WECC produces and distributes data, information, and models that are essential to the reliable planning and operation of the Bulk Electric System in the Western Interconnection.
Oversight
WECC actively monitors and enforces mandatory reliability standards approved by FERC and authorities in British Columbia, Alberta, and Mexico.
Performance & Event Analysis
WECC enhances the reliability of the Bulk Power System by analyzing and monitoring historical performance and applying these insights to current challenges and future planning.
Registration
WECC Registration identifies and registers bulk power system users, owners, and operators responsible for performing reliability functions under mandatory NERC Reliability Standards.
Risk Program
WECC identifies and manages interconnection risks by collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and mitigate the most critical challenges facing the grid.
Standards
WECC facilitates the stakeholder-driven development and implementation of Regional Reliability Standards and WECC Regional Criteria specifically for the Western Interconnection and participates in the NERC Reliability Standards Development process.
