Description
The May session of Reliability in the West will focus on assessing summer conditions and readiness. The discussion will offer an early glimpse into the operational risks and conditions expected across the Western Interconnection during the upcoming summer season. The discussion will cover a wide range of topics, including summer weather outlook, upcoming reliability concerns, resource availability, aridification, extreme weather, and more.
Sunny Wescott will give an update on general conditions, and runoff and drought status. The panel will be moderated by Vic Howell, director of reliability assessments and modeling at WECC, and panelists include:
