WECC has released the 2025 Western Assessment of Resource Adequacy, an annual evaluation of resource adequacy over the coming decade. This year’s report finds that planned resource additions fall short of the forecast load in the Western Interconnection. Any delays or cancellations of projects would exacerbate the resource adequacy risk. Learn more about these challenges in this year’s Western Assessment.
Along with this year’s Western Assessment, WECC has launched the Resource Adequacy Information Center, a one-stop shop for all things resource adequacy in the Western Interconnection. This new tool features the Western Assessment and corresponding supplemental material, System Performance Data Portal, NERC assessments, and more.
