Version 5 of the CIP standards introduces a tiered impact rating system, which classifies bulk electric system (BES) Cyber Systems into High, Medium, and Low categories. This approach results in all cyber assets that could impact BES Facilities being in scope for the CIP standards.
This workshop will address compliance obligations for these four control areas and how the WECC CIP Team may audit the control areas. The content of this workshop is similar to, if not the same as, prior WECC CIP Low Impact Workshops.
The CUG meeting provides in-depth education and training through lectures, presentations, expert panel discussions, interactive dialogue in open forum, question and answer sessions and networking opportunities. Meeting topics comprise the entire compliance sphere with a focus on industry issues and attendee interests. These meetings provide direct access to WECC Compliance management, staff, and Subject-matter Experts.

The CIPUG meeting offers a forum for the exchange of information specifically regarding the mandatory CIP Standards which address the security of cyber assets essential to the reliable operation of the electric grid.
