Two cornerstones of WECC’s Long-Term Strategy are to “strengthen engagement with the reliability and security community in the Western Interconnection” and “build the capability and culture that enable WECC to deliver on its critical reliability mission.” To further these objectives, we have started a stakeholder mapping process. Mapping will allow WECC to develop an informed strategy regarding engagement with different stakeholders and their individual needs. Simply put, stakeholder mapping is a strategic function that will allow WECC to determine who needs what to more effectively and efficiently address reliability issues and concerns in the Western Interconnection. The interactive session will help inform the discussion as WECC considers who the stakeholder groups are, how to best categorize them, how information/analyses/reports are best communicated, and whether breadth or depth is more important.
