WECC’s Reliability and Security Workshop,
March 24–26, 2020
WECC continues to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation closely and follow recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). To minimize risk to our staff and stakeholders in the Western Interconnection, and in response to NERC issuing a Level 2 Alert with increased actions for industry, WECC has decided to cancel the Reliability and Security Workshop. In place of the event, we will be offering a free, one-day webinar on Tuesday, March 24, and will discuss critical issues and standards scheduled at the March Workshop in Portland.
WECC understands this may pose certain hardships on our stakeholders, but we believe this action is necessary to ensure the health and safety of our employees, our stakeholders, our communities, and the continued reliability and security of the Western Interconnection.
If you registered for the Reliability and Security Workshop scheduled in Portland on March 24–26, 2020, below are resources to assist with the cancelation:
• REGISTRATION: WECC will cancel your registration and issue a full refund. This applies to both in-person and webinar registrations.
• HOTEL: If you reserved a hotel room, please contact them directly to cancel your reservation. Reminder: you must cancel within 72 hours prior to your arrival date to avoid paying fees.
• AIRFARE: Most airlines are offering schedule changes at reduced or no costs in March and April.
